Quick & Easy Peanut Butter Woofle Dog Treat Recipe

Quick & Easy Peanut Butter Woofle Dog Treat Recipe

We love waffles! Waffles are great with whipped cream, fruits and maple syrup. We wanted to share the love with our dog, so we decided to make a pet-friendly version with only 5 simple ingredients. We're calling it Woofle Dog Treats! The ingredients chosen are great for your dog's health!

We love using oats when we make dog treats because oats are a great alternative carbohydrate for dogs that may be sensitive to wheat or grains. Oats contain vitamin B, which helps maintain a healthy coat and keeps your dog's skin strong and healthy. It's also a great source of fiber, making it great for dogs with bowel irregularity issues. Make sure the oats are cooked before serving to your pets.

Regular peanut butter found in markets usually have xylitol, which is a sugar substitute found in lower or sugar-free products. Xylitol is toxic for dogs. So if you do end up using store bought peanut butter, please make sure it doesn't contain xylitol. You could also try your hand at making it from scratch by simply blending peanuts in a food processor until it becomes peanut butter. Peanut butter contains heart healthy fats, vitamin B and vitamin E. It's also a great source of fiber and protein.

Before feeding your dog Greek yogurt, make sure that they aren't lactose intolerant! When feeding your dog Greek yogurt, it should be plain and free of any artificial and natural sweeteners. Yogurt is high in calcium and protein. It acts as a probiotic, which is good for their digestive system.

Coconut oil improves your dog's skin, coat, and digestion. It also helps reduce allergic reactions!

Products we used in our video (as an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases):

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 1/2 cup oat flour
  • 1/3 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup peanut butter
  • 2 tbsp coconut oil

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Combine and blend all ingredients into a blender. It should have a creamy consistency.
  3. Oil your waffle mold or waffle maker before placing batter.
  4. Bake for 20-30 minutes. Check to see if baked thoroughly in 20 minutes by poking it with a toothpick. If the toothpick does not come out clean, put waffles back in the oven for another 10 minutes.
  5. Allow waffles to be completely cooled before serving to your pet.

We'd love to hear from you in the comments section below if you give these easy dog treats a try, if you have ideas for different variations and how your pup likes them!
