Chocolate chips cookies are everyone's favorite classic cookie (to the warm, soft cookies to the super crunchy, crispy chocolate chip cookie). The only problem is that dogs CAN'T share or enjoy these cookies with us. So, we have a chocolate chip cookie substitute. We're going to show you how to make Homemade Cranberry Cookie Dog Treats!

We care about our pets so we're extra careful when deciding what will go into their bodies. When using ingredients to make your pet treats, make sure they have no added sugar. Added sugars could be harmful and toxic for your pet's health.

If you do want something sweeter for your pets, definitely use organic honey. Honey is rich in vitamins B and C. It contains nutrients including enzymes, minerals, iron and many more! Raw honey can help dogs who suffer from environmental allergies like pollen. It can also be soothing for pets with digestive issues or an upset stomach.

We love using oats when we make dog treats because oats are a great alternative carbohydrate for dogs that may be sensitive to wheat or grains. Oats contain vitamin B, which helps maintain a healthy coat and keeps your dog's skin strong and healthy. It's also a great source of fiber, making it great for dogs with bowel irregularity issues. Make sure the oats are cooked before serving to your pets.

Coconut is great for your dog's skin and overall health. Cranberries can improve your dog's bladder health, reduce tartar and plaque build up in teeth, fight bacteria and help prevent cancer among other benefits.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cup brown rice flour
  • 1 1/2 cup oat flour
    • If you don't have oat flour, you can just blend old fashioned oats until they become a fine powder. Mix occasionally.
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened shredded coconut
  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 egg

Baking Instructions:

  1. If you don't have oat flour, you can just blend old fashioned oats until they become a fine powder. Mix occasionally.
  2. Add all dry ingredients into a bowl: oat flour, brown rice flour, unsweetened shredded coconut and dried cranberries.
  3. Add egg and water to the dry mixture, and mix.
  4. Make sure the mixture is not too wet and not too dry. If the mix is still too dry, gradually add more water until a dough-like consistency.
  5. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  6. Prep baking sheet with oil to prevent sticking (We prefer to use coconut oil).
  7. Grab a small amount of dough, roll it into a ball, and place on baking sheet.
  8. Squish the dough with your hand or even a fork for a design.
  9. Bake for 20 minutes.
  10. Let cookies cool down completely.
